Will the output be exactly my target size?

It will be close, generally slightly under the target, but single-pass bitrate-targeting isn't perfectly exact — real-world encoding can vary a little based on how complex the footage is. A safety margin is built into the calculation specifically to avoid overshooting your limit.

Why does a very low target size look blurry?

There's a hard tradeoff between file size and visual quality — asking for a very small file from a long or high-motion clip leaves very few bits per frame to work with, which shows up as visible compression artifacts. Trimming the clip shorter first gives the encoder more bits to spend per second.

What if my target size is too small for the video’s length?

The tool enforces a reasonable minimum bitrate floor so the output never becomes unusably degraded — for very long clips with very small targets, trimming the video shorter with Trim Video first will give much better results than relying on compression alone.
